Life journey of an introvert

David met Sam at a shopping centre. They haven't been met for years...

David : Hey Sam, Long time no see. How are you doing?

Sam : Hi David. Wow.. we haven't been meet up for years. I'm doing well and how 'bout you?

David : I'm good thanks. Still working at the same company. On weekends I will visit my parents and spend some good time with them chatting, eating as usual. Are you still with the same company which you had told me the last time?

Sam : Oh no. In fact I just joined another company not too long ago. Good salary and huge benefits. I must say it is God's blessing. I have prayed about it for quite a while. My church pastor encourages us to give more so that we can see more blessings from God. And I can see God has answered my prayers one by one. Besides work, recently I had just changed my 5 year old car to an European car, and I'd just bought a new house too which is still in renovation at the moment. God is really good, and I'm thankful for the pastors and my cell group leader who have encouraged me to understand what God blessing is. I believe this is the church that God wants me to be a part of them for a purpose.

David : Wow! Is that the church you had brought me there once many years ago?

Sam : Yes! That old factory building. Remembered we used to be amazed by the colourful lightings and the superb sound systems, the electronic LED board that used for displaying lyrics during praise and worship, and also those friendly people and not forgetting the ever happening pastor when he preaches in the pulpit? Yup even still now the pastor is still there. In fact the church has just bought another building and has been renovated to become one of the most stylish, state-of-the-art building in the world! We have spent several years to raise millions of funds for this project and we did it. Isn't it amazing how God works in this church? I believe so. We see hundreds of people receiving salvation every week during service. By fulfilling His commission, the church send people to do mission work all around the world, to reach out to the unreached people group. By sharing gospel in the local community, we have gospel rallies by staging up musicals; we have community service to reach out to the helpless people, so on and so forth. I must say this is my purpose in life, to assist the church to fulfill its vision.

David : I'm glad that you have settled down this church well and knowing what you are doing in your life. Hey, my wife is calling me. I have to go now. Catch up with you another time.

Sam : Sure. Call me if you would like to visit this church. Take care!

Just a couple of weeks ago while I was listening to the preacher at a church service, suddenly a pack of conversations started flowing into my mind. I can't remember all of them, but I could only recalled some of the dialogues which were between two persons who have not been in contact with each other for a long time until they met again. Both of them were attending the same church during their teenage years, but now one of them had left to attend another church while the other is still at the same place. Many reflections have came through my thoughts throughout the conversations. And since I have never started any series in this blog yet, I was thinking why not just give it a go then. I hope it is an interesting one. *grin*

Basically the next two posts will be a two-way dialogues. There will be this same person appears on both dialogues, talking to two different persons. And then I will end it with my reflections on these dialogues. Simple as that. Therefore I will call it as A Tale of Two Conversations.

...

When the night seems to say
All hope is lost. Gone away
But I know I'm not alone
By the light she stands
There she waves, faithful friend
Shimmering stars, westward wind
Show the way, carry me
To the place she stands

Just when you think it might be over
Just when you think the fight is gone
Someone will risk his life to raise her
There she stands

There she flies, clear blue skies
Reminds us with red of those that died
Washed in white by the brave
In their strength she stands

When evil calls itself a martyr
When all your hopes come crashing down
Someone will pull her from the rubble
There she stands

We've seen her flying torn and tattered
We've seen her stand the test of time
And through it all, the fools have fallen
There she stands

By the dawn's, early light
And through the fight, she stands...
