Life journey of an introvert

A true driver?

It’s almost 8pm, and I’m still in the office updating some patches on the server. Whilst waiting for the patches to be done, why not post something on my blog since I haven’t been blogging for a while. So maybe just post something about what I’ve heard on the news radio this morning.

I was about to reach office early this morning when I heard the sports news on the radio. “Lewis Hamilton has won the US Grand Prix ahead of Fernando Alonso. It was a back-to-back victory for this 22 year-old rookie.” In my mind, I was thinking that this guy is really something. Never in my life have I seen such a great F1 driver, not to mention that he is a rookie and is leading the world driver’s championship! I admire Michael Schummacher because of his driving skill, his pace, and the way how he controls and utilises his car all the way to the chequered flag. So far in this F1 season I’ve never really seen how Hamilton drives (I did managed to catch a glimpse of him driving during the Sepang Grand Prix), but I could see the way he drives his car, I know he has more than just skills and pace. He has that ‘never give up’ spirit in him. His steer determination is unbelievable.

Besides possessing the skills and pace as a world champion-quality driver, the machine (car) and team work also play an important role in determine a podium finish. For me, I like Ferrari because technically it’s the fastest car on F1 race. However having to drive the fastest car doesn’t mean he will definitely win the race. Occasionally technical problems may occur without giving any warning, human mistakes and etc. Pit crew must always be alert and to follow the procedures correctly without any mistakes in order to make sure the car pits as fast as possible. Even a driver who has the best skills than anybody else in the world may not prove that he is going to be a world champion, without the right attitude and mindset. Guess it’s not easy after all huh.

I believe in competition, there is no such thing as “One-man show”. Everyone is giving their little part in producing a good product. In this case, I guess a lot of people have sacrificed their time and energy, gave their very best in producing someone like Hamilton who have stunned the world by his stunning drive, and is going to produce more surprises to the F1 fans.

Will Hamilton win the title as a rookie?
